Use ballet to achieve your fitness goals!

Many people look to improve posture, flexibility, and balance. Many want to lose weight and put on long, lean muscle to achieve the “dancer physique.” Some may even want to change the way that they move and take up space, so that they’re tensionless, ethereal, exuding a certain “je ne sais quoi.” Ballet based fitness addresses all these objectives and more.

Everyone’s fitness journey is different. You need a personalized program to address your unique ambition. I will craft your workout curriculum, pulling inspiration from ballet and a plethora of other forms of fitness, and tailor it to you. Whether you’re interested in hands on personal training, online personal training, group classes, or an online training program, I’ll ensure that your specific needs are being addressed.

Why You Need a Personal Trainer

Exercise, especially ballet, isn’t always self-explanatory. A personal trainer will educate you on how to attain long lasting results quickly and safely.

Even if you’ve trained before, having someone in your corner who can support you and keep you consistent is crucial.

Why Ballet?

Dance is an essential part of life! Don’t let anyone convince you it’s only for the professionals

Do you ever go to the theater or see a dancer online and think “wow, they’re superhuman, I could never be like that”? Did you dance as a child and fall out of it at some point? Did someone convince you to stop dancing? Did you stop because of an injury? Do you feel like that ship has sailed?

If you’ve answered yes to any of these questions, just know that it’s never too late. Sure, you probably won’t be performing at Lincoln Center, but there’s more to dance than that.

Incorporating dance into your training, combined with resistance training and other fitness philosophies makes you into a happier, more resilient person, able to do much, much more than just stand on one leg or touch your toes. Training doesn’t have to be a form of torture. It can be the force that lets you feel your body through your connection with your soul.

Plus, it’s great for achieving that dancer physique.

About Mateo

I’m a dancer, choreographer and personal trainer who loves movement and longevity. I believe that feeling good in your body is paramount to enjoying life. To me, dance is vital to happiness.

I started dancing ballet at the age of seven. Over the course of my training, I studied many different types of dance like Graham, Horton, contemporary dance, salsa, etc.

After dancing professionally, I got injured and learned how to use fitness as a part of my healing journey. I then attended Sarah Lawrence College and studied abroad for a year at Wadham College, University of Oxford.

As a NASM certified personal trainer, I enjoy those breakthrough moments with my clients where they make a fundamental change or discovery that changes the way they move and feel. I believe that everyone deserves to have dance in their lives.
